Maruti Suzuki refreshes the Baleno with a bold new design, segment-first safety tech, and a 'Dare to go Glam' pitch for younger buyers. Prices start at Rs 6,09,900.

Maruti Suzuki has launched a refreshed version of its premium hatchback, the Baleno, with prices starting at Rs 6,09,900 (ex-showroom). The update is built around what the company calls 'Dare to go Glam' — a direct pitch to younger, image-conscious buyers.

What's New

The new Baleno gets a bolder front face, a longer list of safety tech than any car in its segment, and comfort features aimed at first-time premium car buyers. Bookings are open for Rs 11,000 across NEXA dealerships.

Safety Tech Lead

Maruti is pushing safety as the Baleno's key differentiator. The updated model offers more safety features than any other car in the premium hatchback segment, a space where the Baleno has been the anchor for close to a decade.

Personalisation Options

Two accessory packages launch alongside: the Elegrande Collection for a sophisticated look and the Novo-Spirit Collection for a bolder aesthetic. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki, said the update was designed to reset expectations for the segment with its safety tech and design identity.

The Baleno competes with the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, and Toyota Glanza in India's premium hatchback space.
