Hyundai Motor India announces BAYON as the name of its upcoming intelligent SUV. The name is inspired by Bayonne in the French Basque Country.
Hyundai Motor India has announced the name of its much-anticipated new SUV: the Hyundai BAYON. The announcement marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hyundai in India, joining the brand's lineup of SUVs with a focus on intelligent mobility.
The name BAYON is inspired by Bayonne, a city in the French Basque Country known for its distinctive character and dynamic spirit. Hyundai says this aligns with its ambition to create an exhilarating and adventurous SUV for Indian consumers.
Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of HMIL, said: 'With Hyundai BAYON, we are introducing more than a new SUV. BAYON represents a new mindset — one that reflects our ambition to create experiences that are intelligent, intuitive, and meaningful for our customers.'
The name was revealed through a creatively crafted film depicting a futuristic world where intelligence and imagination converge. More details about the BAYON are expected in the coming days as Hyundai prepares to share further insights into the intelligent SUV designed for the Indian market.
When launched, the BAYON will join Hyundai's SUV lineup that includes the Exter, Venue, Creta, Alcazar, and the recently launched Creta Electric.
